Biography

Dr. Prateek Porwal is a practicing Consultant Gastro-intestinal, Laser, Minimal Access(Laparoscopic surgery),Metabolic, Bariatric and Robotic surgeon at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Indore since October 2022.He is a National Board Certified Minimal Access Surgeon (FNB-MAS –Only postdoctoral fellowship in India recognized by Medical council of India, awarded after 2years of vigorous training in the speciality of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery). During his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Apollo Bangalore from 2018-2020,he got the opportunity to get trained in Minimal Access and Robotic Surgery under Senior Consultants of national repute.To his credit includes introduction of “Three Port eTEPRS technique for Laparoscopic mesh repair for Umbilical Hernia” in Indore, which is the most advanced Umbilical and Ventral hernia repair done laparoscopically via key holes.He not only has a vast experience in the field of Laser proctology, ZSR circumcisi on but is also well versed with the skills of Endoscopy and colonoscopy with an advanced fellowship in this state of art.He is also a member of various surgical organizations of National and international repute and presented his work in various national and international conferences of repute. To his special interests include Laparoscopic/ Open AWR (Abdominal Wall Reconstruction), Lap painless hernia repair (TEPRS,TEP/ eTEP, TAPP, IPOM, SCOLA, MILOS/eMILOS to name a few),Lap Fundoplication, Lap Cholecystectomy, Lap Lymphatic and artery sparing Varicocelectomy, Lap CAPD catheter insersion, Laser Proctology, Laser Varicose Vein treatment and Colorectal and Bariatriclaparoendoscopic procedures to name a few.

Has a vast experience in the field GI, Minimally Invasive (Laparoscopic) ,Bariatric and Robotic Surgery during post doctoral fellowship (FNB-MAS) at Apollo Hospitals Bangalore, where he has participated in more than 4000 surgeries during his rigorous training of two years and 6 weeks under the mentorship of Dr. Ravishankar Bhat B {MS (Mumbai), DNB ,FRCR (Ed.), Mch (AIIMS) and Dr. Sourabh Misra (MS, FICS, Fellow Bariatric Surgery Mayo Clinic at Rochester in Minnesota,USA).He was also a part of colorectal robotic team under the mentorship of Dr. Prof. Narasimhaiah Srinivasaiah MBBS, MD (Academic surg.), MRCS (Eng, Ed, Glas, Ireland), FRCS (CCST), FEBS (coloproctology), PGDMLE (NLSIU)(Head Colorectal Robotic Surgery Apollo Bangalore and head colorectal services Karnataka.)

He has been practicing this art in indore since 2020 and performed independently more than 2000 advanced lap procedures is associated with KDAH Indore and giving his full time services in the institute.
